Cadets Prepare To Honor Veterans at Wreaths Across America Ceremony

November 29, 2010 by Capt Robin Helgager 2 Comments »

Bemidji Civil Air Patrol cadets are preparing for the annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony on Saturday, December 11.   The public is invited to attend.  The ceremony in Bemidji will mirror the ceremony held at Arlington National Ceremony; same time, same script, same wreaths from Harrington, Maine will be used.

Veterans and cadets will lay ceremonial wreaths in the middle of the cemetery to honor the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Merchant Marines, Navy, Public Health, POW’s and Law Enforcement.

Immediately following the ceremony, cadets will take wreaths to the grave sight of veterans, place the wreath, take two steps backward, render a salute and hold for a moment of silence for the veteran.
